PIPER HAYWARD - SPONSORSHIP

Ballet Without Borders was thrilled to be able to sponsor Piper Hayward, a dedicated young ballet student, who thrived during the term we sponsored her. With access to regular classes and proper ballet shoes, she was able to fully immerse herself in her training, building both her technique and confidence.

Over the course of the term, Piper showed clear growth in her strength, focus, and artistry, demonstrating how meaningful support can nurture potential in young dancers.

We can’t wait to see what Piper does next and will certainly be following her progress in the ballet world. She has an amazing and bright future ahead of her.

PAST SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

TATUM - AGE 9-still dancing age 14

I like the quote by Mikhail Baryshnikov that ‘dancers are made, not born’, because if you believe this, it means there are hundreds of budding dancers out there who may never get the chance to fulfil their potential because lessons are out of reach – and that’s why Ballet Without Borders’ mission is so vital
— Tatum's Mum

Tatum Summers, has been a student at Glenbrook Ballet Theatre since the age of two. Her favourite ballet is the Nutcracker.

She’s really enjoying classes this year, especially the new barre work and extra stretch sessions, and practising her moves at home.

She loves dancing with her ballet friends, especially in the end of year show: “I feel nervous to start with and when the lights shine on I think I’m going to forget what to do, but then I start to dance and I love it!”

Tatum’s Mum emphasises the value ballet has on children “Having done ballet up until my teens, I appreciate all its benefits: physical activity, self-discipline, creativity, friendships, working towards goals (exams/performances); these are such valuable things, no matter where you go and what you do in life.

DANIEL - AGE 7 Still dancing age 13

Thank you for giving him this opportunity
— Daniel's mum

Daniel came along to one of the Ballet Without Borders workshops and had danced a little at Glenbrook. He is a joy to watch with talent and energy.

“I want to make people happy’

“BWB was able to provide some tuition for my daughter at a much needed time, as well as dance wear through their partnership with MDM dance. Ballet is such an important part of my daughters life and it was wonderful to recieve this support”

-Nat, Laura's mum
